Maps of the World

Worldmapper has to be the most interesting resource I’ve bumped into in a while. Maps of the world, where apparent landmass is determined by a variable… meat exports, girls in secondary school, patents granted, etc.

Every map (equal area cartograms actually) includes a link to a PDF poster version for printing, the data files used to generate it and technical notes. A wealth of information about our world. The tagline is appropriate:

“The world as you’ve never seen it before!”

This is an interesting resource. I have a strong interest in the whole process of globalization, and this gives me a pictorial representation of the differences between different parts of the world. Thank you for pointing me towards this.
